Safety Standards That CWE Upholds For All Employees

An unexpected release of hazardous substances, or a substantial hazardous substance release, can pose a significant health and safety risk to workers.
Workers encountering hazardous substances at the workplace is a serious safety and health issue that continues to endanger life and environmental quality. To avoid such situations, we at CWE have reinforced acceptable safety practices to stop unsafe acts before they become a statistic. We work in compliance with OSHA’s act to create a safe and secure work environment for our employees.

About OSHA

With the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, Congress created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for the safety of workers. OSHA’s act focuses on maintaining a safe and healthful environment for employees by setting and enforcing standards, and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance. Employers must comply with all applicable OSHA standards as well as the General Duty Clause of the OSH Act, which requires employers to keep their workplace free of serious recognized hazards.

CWE Safety Standards For Employees

To protect our employees, continue reducing our incident rates, and satisfy our customers’ demands to retain the best service providers with the lowest TRIR, DART, and EMR rates, CWE continuously improves on safety excellence. We strictly follow all Federal and State safety and security regulations to protect our team and customers. Here are some of the safety standards that CWE upholds are:

1. Training

According to the researchers’,” Workers who are new on the job have a higher rate of injuries and illnesses than experienced ones.”
For the protection of employees and prevent work-related injuries, illnesses, and deaths, we ensure to offer training, education, and assistance recommended by OSHA’s act. We invest in our employees for the necessary training and tools that are necessary to perform daily activities in a safe and compliant manner. We make sure that our workers have the required skills and knowledge to safely do their work, resulting in preventing countless workplace tragedies. Moreover, we operate in strict compliance with all rules, regulations, and laws to meet and then exceed our commitments.

2. Working Conditions

We ensure to protect our employees from on-the-job injuries by performing routine audits and inspections of equipment and the workplace. The safety audits are done by Environmental Health & Safety professionals as well as supervisors, managers, and other safety leaders. Moreover, each of our employees have the authority to report all unsafe situations, acts, or conditions observed in the workplace. This also includes STOPPING a job when necessary.

3. HAZPOWER (Hazardous Waste Operations And Emergency Response)

Workers can encounter hazardous substances through waste dumped in the environment, unexpected operation failures at a waste management plant/ industry, or unrelated outside events. To address this difficult situation, we at CWE have established ERP (emergency response plan) and EAP (emergency action plan) as per the OSHA standards. We ensure all our employees regularly practice the EAP procedures by conducting drills and exercise. Conducting drills or exercises are an excellent way to help workers understand and remember the plan and their roles in it. Moreover, we review the plan to keep it updated to the current standards.

Other Safety Standards that we follow at Clean Water Environment for the safety of employees are:

  • Ensure all of our employees have and use safe tools and equipment
  • Regular maintenance of equipment
  • Use color codes, posters, labels, or signs to warn workers of potential hazards
  • Workers are provided training in their language
  • Provide access to employee’s exposure and medical records
  • Provide medical examinations and training when required
